Review: Achaté's stick vacuum

New

Oh, I'm so happy with this. I used to think it was strange when my parents got excited about household appliances. But now I'm one of them myself. I'd wanted a good stick vacuum for a while.

We have an in-drive house. That's a house with the garage downstairs and the living space above it. However, we turned part of the garage into a bedroom. So at home we live on 4 floors. The first floor has the living room, dining area and kitchen.

This is where I really wanted to keep a vacuum. You need one when there are six of you living here. If there's one thing I hate, it's lugging a vacuum from floor to floor. And I also hate having an ugly vacuum in sight.

Then along came the brand Achaté with an affordable, compact stick vacuum. We were allowed to review it.

In the box we immediately saw several attachments. That's handy, because there are often lots of crumbs, beads, bits of paper etc. between the sofa cushions. Or when we need to vacuum the stairs.

The different attachments click on and off easily. That's really handy when you want to work quickly.

Maybe it doesn't matter much to most people, but the vacuum has nice colours. Black with mint green/light blue.

The display on the vacuum is very clear and there are hardly any buttons. You can set it to strong or gentle and you can see how much charge the battery has left. There are two modes. I always keep it on gentle so the battery lasts longer. With vacuums I always used the highest setting, but this vacuum just keeps suctioning well on the lower setting. To switch the vacuum on and off, you press a kind of trigger button at your index finger. Press once and it switches on or off. So in principle you don't need to bend down.

When you vacuum with the regular long tube, you'll see that it lights up. That's very handy for seeing whether you're really picking up all the dust.

I use the attachment with the little brush for the stairs and the edge along the stairs. The bristles make it easier to vacuum dust out of small cracks.

I use the long narrow nozzle for the skirting boards and, for example, between the sofa cushions. Every so often I take all the cushions off the sofa to clean it. But for a quick clean in between, this nozzle is very practical.

You can charge the vacuum easily. It also charges fairly quickly and I can vacuum about two floors on 1 charged battery.

Because I haven't found a permanent spot for the vacuum yet, I don't hang it up but stand it in the kitchen. It is possible to hang it up, because a holder is included. When I wanted to put the vacuum down, I heard a click and the vacuum stood up by itself. Very handy.

The vacuum comes apart easily for emptying.

We're very happy with the vacuum and are considering buying another one for a different floor. Sounds a bit over the top, but it means I'll grab the vacuum sooner. After pregnancy and 4 children, my body needs quite some time to recover. And I already have to lift things so often.

Love,

Annelon
